Life's a beach!

There's no power and I'm right here, living my life in Delhi's unbearable heat. And that's when I decide - I'm not going to spend my summer rotting in this oven. I decide to head off to the beaches for a while. Just as I think of starting the packing, the bitter truth hits me - I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO WEAR. AND I AM GOING TO THE BEACHES. PANIC.

I calm myself down and quickly turn to my savior - INDIPLUM.

DIY Chain Style Bracelet!

Summer time means a lot of bright colored accessories to go with those evergreen pair of denim shorts and tee shirts. Instead of spending on bracelets why not just sit at home and make them ourselves right? Well here's a step guide for you all to learn quickly and create a bracelet with your favorite colors and add the extra funk to your look! 

• Start off by measuring and cutting the length of your chain for your bracelet. I've cut the chain for the standard 7 inch bracelet here. But for your personal perfect length, measure the circumference of your own wrist then add half an inch.
• Next is the measuring and cutting the length of your suede lace. The length should be 3 times the length of your bracelet. So in my tutorial here I've measured it for 21 inches since I’m planning to have a 7 inch bracelet.
• Lay your 2 chains next to each other. Take your suede lace and loop and tighten it around the 2 inner loops of the 2 chain pieces to bind them together. It if you like you can tie a knot to make it extra section, but I find just looping it through is enough. Make sure both ends of the lace are the same length.
• Creating this cross style bracelet is very much like lacing your shoelaces. Take the 2 ends and cross them and thread them forward through the next chain link.
• You basically repeat this alternation the direct you thread through (front to back, or back to front)  to create this ‘X’ stitch. My photo tutorial between steps 5 to 8 show the exact movement of how the strands are woven for a little more detail.
• Once you come to the end of your chain, snip off the excess end of lace and secure ends by tying off and gluing the ends down with a hot glue gun.
• Add jump rings and clasps to finish off the bracelet.

The thing that attracts me the most towards fashion is that it lets you be. You choose the way you want to be seen. You don't always have to look perfect or chic or downright sexy. A Hued Summer.

Bored of the blacks and whites I decided to change my drab and dull wardrobe for the summer and gave in to the temptation of the serene greens, the hot pinks, the playful shades of orange and the vibrant yellow! To be honest, I am a huge fan of the color blocking trend and it was time I had introduced my viewers to it. Welcoming the summer in perky and colorful outfits would be the perfect beginning of a bright chromatic summer.

DIY Chic Bow Belt!

What does fashion mean to you? It could be anything from expression of your identity to reflection of your personalities.

Fashion to me is shedding all my inhibitions and do what I can do best which is - Being Stylish. Being stylish does not mean aping the latest trends or buying expensive clothes. Style has to be individualistic. It has to be yours.

Since Indiplum is all about combining fashion with originality I will teach you to make your very own Bow Belt!

Here is a step by step tutorial for making a Chic Bow Belt in less than 10 minutes. Make it, Flaunt it.

So to start with you need to choose a fabric of your choice. It could be adorable polka dotted or with animal prints or it could be simply striped!

For the Belt :

• Fold the cloth in half the long way and sew along the long side. Leave both shorter ends open for now.
• Fold over one open end and hand stitch one side of the snap into the inside.
  Now sew that opening shut (the belt is still inside out).
• Flip right side out now. Once it's right side out, measure it around your waist. The short side that is sewn shut should have the snap on the outside now. Mark with a pencil where the second snap should be. It will be underneath the other piece so you won't have to worry about the stitches or hem showing.
• Now sew the second snap on through both pieces. Trim the end, fold and sew along the fold.

For the Bow :

• Cut a piece of fabric 6'' x 10''. Fold in half and sew along the long side. Iron the seam flat.
• Turn it inside out and move the seam to the middle. Iron flat.
• Sew the ends together.

For the middle bow band : 

• The middle of the bow is a piece of fabric 3'' x 4 ½''. Fold it in half and sew as you've done the other two pieces. Turn inside out as well.
• Take this small piece and fold it around the middle of the band. Sew where you're pinching, you want it tight but you'll be sliding the bow in it, so not very tight.
• Pinch the bow and pull it through the middle band  you've just sewed together.
